Typeface Matters

Again with the politics, Tantillo?!? And why not!! Politicians are brands too, so we need to discuss it! Small things about brands matter as this flurry of punditry and analysis over the typeface and logos of the various political candidates shows. BTW, most pols and their handlers don’t usually care about this side of the marketing equation —they are almost always more concerned about the ads they run, speeches made, and the strategy involved in both. So when I read Newsweek’s Stumper, Andrew Romano, take on branding, I was surprised and impressed! Romano writes: "The point I'm trying to make is that Obama's marketing is much more cohesive and comprehensive than anything we've seen before, involving fonts, logos and web design in a way that transcends the mere appropriation of commercial tactics to achieve the sort of seamless brand identity that the most up-to-date companies strive for."
Someone here understands what I have been talking about —It’s easy when you keep marketing in mind.
