Apples and Idols

American Idol is one of my favorites! So there! I admit it! Why, do you ask? Maybe it’s my doctorate in Applied Research Psychology that makes me wonder over and over again why people are in denial about their ability! I can’t get over how some people think they can actually sing when they’re truly awful. It gets me every time! A lot of the time I like to watch the auditions more than the performances! And I know I’m not alone on that one!
Now Idol and Apple are making a branding deal. Here’s the story (more from me on this one later!):

And its brand remains one of the most recognizable in the world. So what can aligning its iPod and iTunes offerings with a television program do for Apple, even when the program in question is as popular as the Fox Network's "American Idol?
Plenty, analysts say.
